A review of faith-based organisations’ work on gender justice in Southern Africa has resulted in a commitment to overcome barriers that is limiting the churches’ response. The commitment was made at a Gender and Faith Symposium organised by Christian Aid and Sonke Gender Justice.

Men and boys have role in fight for gender justice

The fight for “just and equal gender relationships” should not be left to women and girls; but must “fully involve” men and boys, the Anglican Consultative Council has said. It urged Anglican provinces to continue to empower “girls and boys, women and men, to live and work in relationships that reflect Christian values of love, dignity and justice.”
