[CMS] More than 100 Tanzanian Christians were given training in sharing the gospel, and many more Tanzanians responded positively to their efforts during a recent four-day seminar.

This was the news from mission partner Christine Salaman, who serves as mission and evangelism co-ordinator for the provincial offices of the Anglican Church of Tanzania.

“The men and women trained were from five different dioceses in the Southern zone,” she explained. The event took place in the town of Tunduru in the diocese of Masasi, deemed a key area for evangelism. Part of the training included door to door evangelism.

“This was a very encouraging time of meeting with people of other faiths and sharing the good news of the gospel,” Christine said.

There were also open air gatherings for the local community. Christine said, “Large numbers of people came to hear preaching and receive prayer. We also showed the Jesus film on a large screen outside and many people came.

“The local church is now following up with all those who responded, meeting with them and discipling them.”

This seminar was the second in a series; Christine asks for prayer for her team as they plan to hold training sessions in the remaining three zones of the Anglican Church in Tanzania.
