Church implements disaster strategy after devastating floods

The Church of Ceylon has implemented its disaster management plan in response to devastating floods that have displaced around 225,000 people and seriously impacted a further 200,000. Heavy rains have resulted in the confirmed deaths of 92 people; and a significant number of injures. Scores of people remain missing.
