A task group has been appointed to “maintain conversation” among the Primates of the Anglican Communion as requested by the Primates during their meeting in January. The Primates asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to establish the group as part of their commitment to “walk together” despite “deep differences”.

Today the Primates agreed how they would walk together in the grace and love of Christ. This agreement acknowledges the significant distance that remains but confirms their unanimous commitment to walk together. The Primates regret that it appears that this document has been leaked in advance of their communiqué tomorrow. In order to avoid speculation the document is being released in full.

The general secretary of the World Council of Churches, the Revd Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, has sent a message to the Anglican Primates meeting this week in Canterbury, offering them his “warm greetings” and assuring them of his “heartfelt prayers”.
