The Anglican Communion is the theme for this weekend’s national online worship service produced by the Church of England. The C of E has been producing a weekly video-based act of worship since the start of the country’s original Covid-19 lockdown in the Spring. This week’s service, filmed in the chapel of Lambeth Palace, is led by the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Anglican Communion Adviser, Bishop Anthony Poggo, formerly of Kajo Keji in South Sudan.

The Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, the former Archbishop of Kaduna in the Church of Nigeria, Dr Josiah Idowu-Fearon, will also take part in the service. The sermon will be given by the President of the Mothers’ Union, Sheran Harper,

Bishop Anthony said that the service “will tell us about friendships that cross continents, and how communities in different parts of the world support one another in hard times and share in one another’s joys in good times.”
