Barbados: Anglican archbishop joins pledge for interfaith cooperation

[NationNews] Muslim and Christian leaders in Barbados have pledged to continue to work together at a historic meeting in the Muslims’ Jumma Mosque on Kensington New Road [in Bridgetown] [yesterday].

Anglican Archbishop of the West Indies and Bishop of Barbados Dr John Holder sat side by side with the president of the Jumma Mosque Dr Mohammed Nagdee, and listened as the president of the Barbados Muslim Association, Suleiman Bulbulia declared “As two of the major Abrahamic faiths in the world, it is imperative that we find common ground on issues confronting our society and nation as a whole.”

In the audience were principals representing other Christian denominations, sitting with imams, Muslim scholars and other members of the Muslim community.
