[The Observer] The Anglican Church has set aside May 30 as Martyrs Day for children. Addressing the press in Kampala on Tuesday, Archbishop Stanley Ntagali said the idea of a separate day for children came up because June 03 attracts many adults, denying children a chance to be ministered to.
Ntagali says the celebrations will start at 8:30am and children will be transported from different churches to Namugongo. Children will be lectured and entertained on the importance of the day.
This year's Martyrs Day celebrations are being organized by the Diocese of Kampala. The day is celebrated in memory of a group of 23 Anglican and 22 Catholic converts to Christianity in Buganda, one of Uganda's kingdoms.
