[Manchester Evening News] Vicars in Greater Manchester are being given lessons in how to Tweet in an bid to gain more followers.
Dozens of Church of England clergymen and women will be shown how to promote weekly services, plug church events and interact with their flock on Twitter and Facebook.
The move is being spearheaded by the Bishop of Manchester David Walker - one of the first bishops to start Tweeting regularly.
A total of 30 vicars - all novices - will take part in a training session next month to learn the basics of using the technology.
And further training sessions will be held over the course of the year for other clergy keen to make the most out of the micro-blogging site.
