The bishop of the Spanish Reformed Episcopal Church, the Rt Revd Carlos López-Lozano, has called on all Anglican churches in Spain to remember the victims of yesterday's horrific train crash in their services this Sunday.

At least 77 people were killed and more than 100 injured after the express train, travelling from Spain's capital Madrid to the north-west port city of Ferrol, derailed near Santiago de Compostela.

Bishop Lozano sent a message of condolence and solidarity to the families and friends of the victims, saying: "Our prayers are with you. We ask God to give you faith, strength and comfort to deal with such painful moments."

The bishop has asked all Anglican congregations in Spain to pray for the victims and their families and asked that the victims are remembered in all services on Sunday.
