From Jan Butter, ACNS editor
Dear Reader,
The Anglican Communion News Service has always been the digital half of package that aimed to deliver the best stories of Anglican life and ministry. The other half was Anglican World magazine.
A printed publication has been part of our Anglican Communion history as far back as the 1940s. Those Anglicans and Episcopalians without easy access to the Internet lost a valuable source of Communion news and information when production of Anglican World ceased in 2007. Since that time, many people have urged us to relaunch it.
Last month I was delighted to present the Archbishop of Canterbury with the first edition of the relaunched magazine. Described as “a very good read” at the recent Church of England General Synod, the full-colour publication features news from around the Communion; feature articles on issues affecting Anglicans and Episcopalians; images of Communion life; a regular section on Anglican youth; and reflections on the past, present and future of our global faith tradition.
This Christmas, why not consider giving the gift of an Anglican World magazine subscription to an Anglican or Episcopalian in your parish, diocese, Province or indeed in another Province? It costs just £10 a year for four editions.
Future editions will feature the brand new youth council for churches in Central Africa; Communion women meeting in New York for the UN Commission on the Status of Women; an article on how churches are using digital technology to share the Gospel; and, of course, a piece on the new Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.
