The Revd Jonnie Kuper was consecrated and installed as the second Bishop of Hanuato'o Diocese at Kira Kira, Makira on Sunday April 10th.

The Archbishop of Melanesia, the Most Rev'd Sir Ellison Pogo, consecrated the bishop in the presence of the other Diocesan Bishops, ecumenical partners and the hundreds of communicants.

The Rev'd Brian Mcdonald Milne from the Melanesian Mission-United Kingdom preached on the occasion.

Bp. Kuper replaces Bp. James Mason who left the post at the end of July 2004 to take up pastoral work in the Diocese of Exeter in England as from the end of last year.

Bp. Kuper is from Santa Anna island in the Diocese of Hanuato'o.
