The Bishop in Cyprus and the Gulf, the Rt Revd Michael Lewis, is delighted to announce the appointment of Canon Paul Maybury to the new combined post of Spirituality Co-ordinator and Bishop’s Missioner in the South East Cyprus Chaplaincy.

In the diocese-wide spirituality role, he will be a key colleague of Miss Maggie LeRoy, and in the parochial role at St John the Evangelist Deryneia he will work closely with the Revd Simon Holloway, who leads the neighbouring church of Christ Church Ayia Napa, and with the local Readers ministering in South East Cyprus.

Canon Maybury has served as Vicar of Ossett and Gawthorpe in the Diocese of Wakefield in the Province of York for the last eleven years and is also Rural Dean of Dewsbury.

Paul and his wife Sarah expect to move to Cyprus in the autumn and Bishop Michael plans to license him on the afternoon of Advent Sunday, 1 December.
