Anglican Board of Mission reports that Bishop Clyde Igara from Dogura Diocese was elected as the new Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea on Friday 14th June, 2013.

He takes over from Archbishop Joe Kopapa who retired late last year.

ABM also states that the Provincial Council had confirmed the appointment of Mr Samson Chicki as the new General Secretary to replace Mr Richard Rabiafi who retires this month.

The agency writes, "ABM warmly congratulates both Archbishop Clyde and Mr Chicki on their appointments and we look forward to working together with them in their new capacities."

ABM is the national mission agency of the Anglican Church of Australia working with overseas and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
