All African Anglican Conference on HIV/AIDS:
Anglican Archbishop Njongonkulu Ndungane will host a press conference at the Birchwood Conference Centre in Boksburg at 12:45 tomorrow, 16 August.
This marks the end of a conference/workshop which has focused on sustainable responses to the AIDS pandemic in Africa and the development of strategic partnerships. The unique event has been supported by archbishops representing more than 73 million Anglicans in 174 countries, UN AIDS, USAID, the donor community, the South African Government, pharmaceutical manufacturers and other key stakeholders.
The African initiative, strongly supported by the global Anglican communion and the Archbishop of Canterbury, is led by the Archbishop of Cape Town, who intends reporting on the outcome. With him at the press conference will be: The Most Revd Robert Okine, Anglican Archbishop of West Africa (Ghana.):The Revd Fr Gideon Byamugisha, Priest of the Anglican Church of Uganda who is living with AIDS and Ms Musa Njoko, a South African, facilitator.
