The German Old Catholic Church, which is in Communion with the Anglican Communion, and whose orders are recognised by the Roman Catholic Church, ordained its first two women priests at Pentecost.

Angela Berlis, a chaplain at Bonn University, and Regina Pickel-Bossau, a teacher, were ordained in Konstanz by Bishop Joachim Vobbe, assisted by Bishop Emeritus Sigisbert Kraft.
